Ultreo Ultrasonic Toothbrush

How Ultreo Works

Dear Patients and Consumers,

Our office is pleased and excited to endorse this new toothbrush and technology. Ultreo takes power brushing where it's never gone before. Invented at the University of Washington in association with former scientists, engineers and executives of Optiva Corporation (developers of the Sonicare toothbrush), Ultreo is the first power toothbrush to combine ultrasound waveguide technology with precisely tuned sonic bristle action. Ultreo's bristles create microbubbles that are powerfully activated by nearly 4 million cycles of ultrasound energy per brushing channeled by a proprietary ultrasound waveguide.

A Difference is Guaranteed

When you purchase an Ultreo ultrasound toothbrush from our office you have 30 days to evaluate this product. If your teeth don't feel cleaner than ever before you can call the company directly at 1.877.4.ULTREO and they will refund your money. Our Office believes in this ultrasound difference.

An Experience Unlike Any Other

A Deep Clean

Ultreo's combination of ultrasound waveguide technology and sonic bristle action can remove hard-to-reach plaque for an incredibly deep feeling of clean.

A Faster Clean

Ultreo has been clinically proven to remove up to 95% of plaque from hard-to-reach areas in the first minute of brushing.

Naturally Whiter Teeth

Ultreo has been clinically proven to remove surface stains for naturally whiter teeth in just 14 days.

Improved Gum Health

Ultreo has been clinically proven to reduce gingivitis in just 30 days.

A Safe and Gentle Clean

Ultreo is shown to be safe and gentle for everyday use on gums, natural tooth surfaces and dental work.

A Brushing Experience People Love

8 out of 10 people who used Ultreo in a recent study would switch to Ultreo from their current power toothbrush. And of those who expressed a preference, 8 out of 10 thought the overall cleaning provided by Ultreo was better compared to the power toothbrush they normally use.

Technical Questions:

Q: How is ultrasonic different than sonic?

A: A power toothbrush can be defined as "sonic" if it uses a frequency within the audibility range of the human ear; that is 20 Hz – 20,000 Hz . Ultrasonic frequencies are above the range audible to the human ear; that is 20,000 Hz and above. Ultreo employs a proprietary combination of both precisely tuned sonic and ultrasonic frequencies.

Q: How is Ultreo different than other power toothbrushes?

A: Ultreo is the only power toothbrush to combine ultrasound waveguide technology and sonic bristle action. Ultreo's bristles create bubbles that are powerfully activated by nearly 4 million cycles of ultrasound energy per brushing channeled by a proprietary ultrasound waveguide. The result is an incredible, long-lasting feeling of clean.

Q: How does the Ultreo work?

A: There are 3 main components to Ultreo's technology; first precisely tuned sonic bristles create bubbles and clean teeth upon contact. Second, ultrasound energy is channeled through a proprietary waveguide into the bubbles. And third, the bubbles are activated by the ultrasound energy and transformed into pulsating bubbles for an incredible feeling of clean.

Q: What is the purpose of the ultrasound waveguide? What is it made out of?

A: Ultreo's ultrasound waveguide is specifically designed to efficiently channel the ultrasound energy from the transducer in the back of the brush head directly into the bubbles. Without this waveguide, the ultrasound energy would immediately dissipate and thus be rendered ineffective for cleaning. The waveguide is made of silicone rubber.

Q: I have replaced my brush head, why is the "replace" indicator still flashing?

A: Once the brush head replacement indicator light comes on it will remain on until it is reset. After you have replaced your brush head, you can manually reset the brush head replacement indicator. Just press and hold the power button down for 2 seconds while the brush is in a plugged in charger base. When the indicator light goes out, release the button. The indicator can be reset at any time, even if the Replace light is not flashing.

Q: Do the magnets in Ultreo have any demagnetizing effects on appliances or other products?

A: Some amount of magnetic effects are naturally produced by the Earths magnetic field and the sun.The Ultreo does have a motor with a rare earth magnet, like nearly all power toothbrushes. The Ultreo motor utilizes a very effective metal shield resulting is a very small magnetic field. This small field should not produce any negative effects to other appliances or products. Ultreo does comply with FCC and EMC requirements.

Q: Does the ultrasound have an effect on the hearing of humans or animals?

A: Human hearing does not detect sound above 20kHz and animals can detect sounds at somewhat higher frequencies. The ultrasound waves from Ultreo are significantly higher in frequency than is detectable by human or animal hearing. What can be heard from Ultreo is the relatively low level of sonic sound from the motor, not the ultrasound.

Q: I thought an ultrasound brush would generate a lot of heat. Will the toothbrush feel or get hot?

A: No, the toothbrush will not get hot. You will not be able to see, hear or even feel the ultrasound working.

Q: I have a latex allergy. Are there any parts of Ultreo made from latex?

A: Ultreo is completely latex-free. The ultrasound waveguide is made from silicone rubber. The rubber on the handle and around the power button is polyurethane elastomer which is commonly used for many household tools. The handle and brush head is hard plastic formulated especially for toothbrushes to meet FDA requirements.

Q: Should I leave it charging all the time, or can I just charge the Ultreo when the battery dies?

A: It is recommended that you keep your Ultreo in a plugged in charger base at all times when not in use to maintain a full battery charge and optimal performance.

Q: What kind of battery is in my Ultreo? Is the battery replaceable?

A: Your Ultreo is designed with the environment in mind by using a NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery. The battery can be disposed of in any trash receptacle. The battery inside the Ultreo cannot be replaced and does not need to be removed before disposal. The Ultreo battery should last for many years.

Q: When fully charged, how many uses will I get out of Ultreo before I need to re-charge it?

A: A full charge will last for approximately 28 two-minute brushings or approximately two weeks of typical use for a single user.
